Because the platform holds a large library of country- and region-level grid electricity factors, choose the subtype that matches the supplier's actual location as closely as possible rather than defaulting to a global or national average when a more specific regional factor is available.
How to collect the data
Use supplier-reported energy data (kWh) where available through supply-chain engagement or CDP-style supplier questionnaires. Failing that, use spend-based estimation ($ or £) allocated by supplier location, using the region-specific electricity subtype that matches where the supplier actually operates.
